It seems that I watch a lot of 3 A.M. television and with that comes the ads. Specifically, the stomach fat burner ads with various contractions of ab working devices. They seem to be coming out with new ones every single time I watch the TV. The question is…do these stomach fat burner exercise devices work? Can they really trim fat from your stomach like the picture paints in the infomercials?
Spot Reducing – Looking For Gold Where There Ain’t None
There is such a concept in the diet and exercise world called spot reduction. It’s means exactly what it sounds like: reducing a certain area. For weight loss, this means reducing your fats in a particular area. For some, this could be the thighs whereas for this particular post it means a stomach fat burner that burns stomach on your fat.
While this is a great way to “Dream” about weight loss, spot reduction does not work….unless you hire a doctor and have surgery to spot reduce the fat in that particular area.
Our bodies to not get rid of fat in one particular area just because we exercise it more. Unlike the way our body builds muscle (according to the muscles torn/worked out that we targeted during workouts), fat loss is NOT dependent on which muscles we tore. While working out our muscles is good for fat loss and helps add more calories burned at the end of the day, stomach fat burner exercise devices don’t help with losing fat.
Pills and Fat Burning Stimulants
The same holds true for stomach fat burning stimulants that promise to burn stomach fat. While they will help burn calories from the increased stimulation (there are risks to these products), it won’t specifically target your belly fatty tissue.
In general, to see your abs you have to have around 15% or less total B.F.. The lower the percentage, the more ripped you’ll look.
What to do for Burning Belly Fat?
The right way to burn stomach fat is to start following some sort of calorie burning diet. Although it won’t target your stomach fat directly, through the fat loss process you will lose stomach fatty tissue as well as fat all over your entire body.
A good solution is not to go on any specific popular diet but rather to learn a little about nutrition, which foods are healthy and fat burning, which foods to avoid, what exercises burn the most calories, how to keep lean muscle (this keeps your body fat percentage lower), and learning the various tips for weight loss.
