Say you want to lose 50 pounds. If you lose 2 pounds per week, it would take you 25 weeks to lose the weight. Why not book a nonrefundable cruise for 25 weeks from now. Knowing that you have such a big investment made on a vacation, may keep you motivated to stick with your program.
Now, to make it more interesting, let us say each month that you reach your goal you put $50 in a clothing fund towards your new wardrobe for the cruise. By the time, you go on your cruise you will have over $300 to spend on new clothing for your new body.
Now with all that money invested, don’t you think you will have to think a little bit harder whenever you have a craving? Of course, it does not necessarily have to be a cruise if that is not something that interests you. It could also be a trip to Hawaii, a dude ranch, the mountains, a rental house on the ocean or what ever your dream vacation is.
It does not matter what vacation you decide to purchase, you will of course want to have the new clothing to fit your new sexy, slim body. Make sure to get many pictures of your vacation choice and put them together on a vision board.
A vision board is something you use to put your hopes and dreams on and you can look at every day to remind you to stick with your program.
It is also an idea to put many pictures of models wearing clothing that you would like to own when you go on your vacation. Each time you put away your $50 clothing allowance, spend a little time at the store window-shopping to see all the great clothing that you will be able to wear when you lose the weight.
The next time you reach for a box of cookies, remember to remind yourself to go and look at your vision board and meditate on how great your vacation is going to be and how great you are going to look in your brand-new clothes. This can help you resist the cravings and keeping the motivation you need to stick with it.
