Before you can start any kind of program to get rid of excess body weight, you must have your mindset that you are ready to make it this time. If you have your mindset telling you that starting next week I am going to start this horrible awful diet, then your mindset obviously is not ready for a successful weight loss program.

It might be a good idea before you even try to lose weight to start using positive affirmations, visual aids like photos of yourself when you were thin, writing down all your goals, and taking your weight and measurements, and making plans for when you have lost the weight.

See yourself being able to do the things that you want to do without being exhausted. Take time everyday to use affirmations about how great your life is going to be. Try to be positive about how great it is that you can go on a program to make you look and feel better.

The more you are dreading starting a weight loss program, the less likely you will be a success. By keeping, your mind set on the positive changes that will come to your life when you have lost the weight, you will have a better chance when you start your program.

Do not even waste your time starting your program until you have your mindset right. You may need to spend a few weeks getting your mind in the right frame and understanding that your weight-loss program is a good thing. Once you get your mind convinced that this will be a good thing, you will increase your odds of success immensely.

Take time during this period to look through recipe books, diet sites online, different programs, reading other people’s success stories and how they achieve them or anything else that will help you to be more prepared when the day comes to start your new and exciting journey towards attaining the body of your dreams.
