You have seen numerous commercials about how dangerous it is to have toxins in your system. You’ve probably also heard that having toxins in your body can have negative consequences when you’re trying to lose weight.
Detoxifying footpads are promoted as a very simple and effective way to get the toxins out of your body. All you have to do is stick the pads on the bottom of your feet and you go to bed, and when you wake up in the morning the pads are dark because of all of the toxins that they have removed from your body. They are also promoted as removing such harmful chemicals and substances, such as heavy metals and pesticides.
The companies that sell these footpads also say that after each night you use the pads, they will become less and less dark. This is because you will be removing the toxins from your body, so less will be on the pads.
But do they really work? Can they actually help you lose weight?
Numerous trials have been done lately about the effectiveness of these footpads. Nearly every subject in these trials has reported that they do not have any significant beneficial effects from using the footpads. They have not had more energy. They have not lost weight. They have not felt significantly better.
Nearly all of the subjects did report that the pads were dark once they woke up in the morning. They also reported that the pads had horrible smell.
Tests that were run on the pads came back saying that there were no harmful substances detected in the footpads. The pads did not draw out any type of toxins from the body. The dark color that was seen on the pads was simply because the pads were wet. Even using distilled water to wet the pads made them turn dark.
Using the detoxifying footpads will not help you lose weight. A much more effective method would be to naturally remove the toxins from your body by soaking in a sauna for 15 minutes a day and by only eating foods that are certified as being organic.
